Tanzania commenced the construction of Msalato International Airport – with President Samia Suluhu Hassan laying the foundation stone in October 2022. The $272M first phase of the Msalato Airport project, expected to take four years, includes a passenger terminal, a 3.6 km runway, and the installation of air navigation equipment. The airport, located about 12km from the Dodoma CBD, will have a capacity estimated at 1,750,000 passengers per annum – for phase one.
