Transair Senegal Flight Veers Off Runway
Transair Boeing 737 veered off runway in Senegal, no fatalities reported.
Senegal’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport issued a statement regarding Transair flight HC301, a Boeing 737, which veered off the runway during takeoff from Senegal’s Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) following a rejected takeoff on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 1:14 AM local time.
The ministry further confirmed that the flight was carrying 85 people to Bamako, including 79 passengers, two pilots, and four cabin crew members. Up to ten people, including a pilot, sustained injuries.
All arrangements for their care have been made, as outlined in a government statement.
Following the incident, the Bureau of Investigation and Analysis (BEA) has been directed by the Minister to open an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
