Uganda Airlines Tops Africa’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet for 2025
Air Tanzania, Jambojet make strides in sustainability with modern fleets

Uganda Airlines (UR) has been awarded the “ch-aviation Africa’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award” for the fifth consecutive year, maintaining its lead in having Africa’s youngest aircraft fleet in 2025.
The airline’s fleet, comprising two A330-800neo and four CRJ900LR aircraft, has an average age of 5.12 years, according to ch-aviation data.
Globally, Starlux Airlines earned recognition for having the youngest aircraft fleet worldwide for the third consecutive year, with an average fleet age of 2.62 years.

New-Generation Aircraft and CO2 Reduction
ch-aviation outlines that these new-generation aircraft “considerably reduce CO2 emissions in the aviation industry and improve fuel economy.”
Sustainability remains a significant challenge, and as ch-aviation notes, it will “continue to require giant leaps forward” for the aviation industry.
The Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award celebrates the airlines’ efforts toward fleet modernisation and environmental responsibility.
