Virgin Atlantic and Kenya Airways (KQ) have announced a new codeshare agreement, effective March 19, 2023.

This agreement will provide Virgin Atlantic customers with access to Kenya Airways’ direct flights between London Heathrow and Nairobi.

In turn, Kenya Airways passengers will soon be able to connect via London Heathrow onto several of Virgin Atlantic’s Caribbean destinations, including Barbados, The Bahamas, Grenada, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Kenya Airways, said:

“Obtaining access to Kenya from the UK is now simplified. Since January, visitors from outside Africa, including the UK, only require an online authorization instead of a full visa.”

Enhanced Benefits and Rewards for Frequent Flyers

In a statement, the airlines emphasised Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club and Kenya Airways’ Asante Rewards members will enjoy priority services, including check-in, baggage handling, and boarding at London Heathrow and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, thanks to both airlines’ membership in the SkyTeam alliance.

Additionally, Flying Club members have been earning Virgin Points and Tier Points on Kenya Airways flights since March 2023. They can also earn points by booking luxury safaris through Virgin Atlantic Holidays or Virgin Limited Edition.
