The World Tourism Organization – UNWTO designated World Tourism Day 2021 as a day to focus on Tourism for Inclusive Growth. The coastal country of West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, hosts the official celebration of WTD 2021.
World Tourism Day has been held on 27 September each year since 1980 – as the global observance day to foster awareness of tourism’s social, cultural, political and economic value and the contribution that the sector can make towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.
