WTTC: Egypt Travel & Tourism Hits Record EGP 1.4TN in 2024

Sector contributes 8.5% of GDP—visitor spending and employment exceed pre-pandemic levels.

WTTC’s latest Economic Impact Research (EIR), developed with Oxford Economics, reports Egypt’s Travel & Tourism sector contributed EGP 1.4TN to GDP in 2024, accounting for 8.5% of the national economy.

A 4.9% growth is forecast for 2025, with the sector’s share expected to reach 8.6% of GDPas outlined in the statement on June 19, 2025.
