WTTC: Kenya Travel & Tourism to Contribute KSh1.2TN in 2025

Sector to support 1.7MN jobs—domestic and international spending near historic highs.

WTTC research projects Kenya’s Travel & Tourism sector will contribute KSh1.2TN to GDP in 2025, a 24% increase over 2019 and more than 7% of national GDPas per the Council’s findings.

  • Visitor Spending (2025 forecast): • Domestic: KSh 560BN (record high) • International: KSh 300BN (+31% vs 2019)
  • Employment: • 1.7 million jobs projected in 2025 • Over 8% of national employment
  • Long-Term Outlook (2035): • GDP contribution: KSh 1.8TN • Employment: 2.2 million jobs • Visitor spending: KSh 409BN (international), KSh 821BN (domestic)
