Zanzibar Implements Mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance for Foreign Visitors
ZIC-issued inbound travel insurance mandatory for all foreign visitors to Zanzibar, effective October 1, 2024
The government of Zanzibar has announced a new policy requiring all foreign visitors to possess valid inbound travel insurance starting October 1, 2024.
According to the latest requirement, all foreigners must possess valid Inbound Travel Insurance covering their stay (up to 92 days).
“This policy provides comprehensive coverage for various emergencies including repatriation, evacuation, and other related contingencies.
“It is essential that all prospective foreigners make necessary arrangements to obtain suitable inbound travel insurance ONLY from Zanzibar Insurance Corporation through QR Code that will be provided before embarking on their journey to Zanzibar.
“Failure to comply with this mandatory requirement may result in entry denial at immigration checkpoints.
“Your understanding and compliance are crucial as we collectively strive towards creating a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone visiting Zanzibar.”
