Airbus has announced that it is offering up to 5%-pure Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) free of charge to customers departing from its Toulouse delivery centre and from September to those taking delivery in Hamburg.

This move is part of Airbus’ ambition to promote SAF as an efficient lever for decarbonisation. Indigo was the first airline to benefit from this offer, with a new A320neo departing from Toulouse to Mumbai on July 3, 2023.

We’re sending a strong signal to our customers, the fuel ecosystem, and the wider sector: SAF has arrived.”

Airbus already offers varying concentrations of SAF to customers ferrying aircraft at their discretion from its Tianjin, China, and Mobile, Alabama, delivery centres to their home base.
