Airbus has updated its interactive sustainability booklet for 2024, “Gathering pace towards sustainable aerospace.”

The sustainability booklet outlines the organisation’s comprehensive strategy for a more sustainable future for the aviation industry.

According to a July 19, 2024, statement on Linkedin, Airbus states: “Our actions go beyond decarbonising aviation: we are working to reduce our own emissions; improve health, safety and inclusion metrics for all; and create prosperity for societies and businesses around the world.”

The booklet explores Airbus’ comprehensive approach to sustainability, encompassing its emphasis on Respecting the Planet, Valuing People, Enabling Prosperity, and Holding Self-Accountability.

Notably, Airbus reports significant progress towards its sustainability goals. In 2023, the company achieved a 42% reduction in industrial emissions (Scopes 1 & 2) and a 29% reduction in emissions from sold products (Scope 3) compared to their 2015 baseline.
