Ethiopian Airlines and Satarem Collaborate for Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Ethiopia
FlyEthiopian to procure SAF from Satarem
Ethiopian Airlines Group has partnered with Satarem America Inc., a sustainable energy solutions provider, to promote eco-friendly travel.
The two organisations formalised their commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in August 2024.
Satarem is set to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Ethiopia, a cleaner alternative to traditional jet fuel, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). Ethiopian Airlines will procure this sustainable fuel from them.
The airline has emphasised, “with this MoU, Ethiopian Airlines Group has solidified its commitment to sustainability. This strategic partnership marks a significant step Ethiopian Airlines is taking towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.“
