Etihad clinches 'Environmental Airline of the Year' accolade for a record 3rd year

Etihad Airways (EY) has been named the ‘Best Environmental Airline of the Year’ for 2024 by AirlineRatings.com, marking their third consecutive win in this prestigious category.

This accomplishment comes alongside it’s 8th place ranking in the agency’s Top Twenty airlines of 2024, as revealed by AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas.

“Etihad Airways has demonstrated its leadership in the push for sustainable flight,” said Mr. Thomas, “The airline’s Sustainability Report 2021-2022 demonstrates the potential advancements to be made in sustainable aviation by a wide range of initiatives, coordinated to achieve a 20 per cent reduction in emissions intensity in its passenger fleet by 2025, cut 2019 net emissions by 50 per cent by 2035, and reach net-zero emissions by 2050.”
