IATA Introduces World Sustainability Symposium to Decarbonize Aviation

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) introduced the World Sustainability Symposium (WSS), with the first edition to be held in Madrid, Spain, from October 3 to 4, 2023.

Aviation’s Sustainability Challenges: Seven Key Areas to Address

IATA announced that the WSS will facilitate critical discussions in seven key areas: the crucial role of government and policy support, effective implementation of sustainability measures, financing the energy transition, measuring, tracking and reporting emissions, addressing non-CO2 emissions, and the significance of value chains.

The WSS is expected to provide a platform specifically tailored for airline sustainability professionals, regulators and policy makers, as well as stakeholders in the industry’s value chain.
