The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched the SAF Matchmaker platform, designed to connect airlines with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) producers by matching supply offers with purchase requests.

In an announcement on June 27, 2025, the organisation stated the platform is hosted on the Aviation Energy Hub, a digital space supporting aviation energy management.

SAF Matchmaker Platform Features

IATA reports, that the platform offers a centralised interface for SAF buyers and suppliers. It supports both spot purchases and offtake agreements, with transactions and pricing discussions conducted outside the system. Initially limited to airlines and SAF producers, IATA plans to expand access to non-aviation SAF buyers over time.

Key Functions

  • Efficiency: Simplifies procurement and reduces search cost.
  • Connectivity: Enables visibility of available and planned SAF volume.
  • Transparency: Includes feedstock, production method, emissions data, and CORSIA/EU RED compliance.

The SAF Matchmaker platform will accelerate the uptake of SAF by reducing the costs and complexity that airlines face when searching for SAF suppliers,” remarks Marie Owens Thomsen, IATA’s Senior Vice President Sustainability and Chief Economist.
