Kenya Airports Authority Gains ISO Certifications for JKIA, MIA, and HQ Facilities

ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications awarded for Environmental, Safety, and Operational Standards

Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has been awarded ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Moi International Airport (MIA), and its headquarters.

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) granted the certifications. According to KAA, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) principles have been embedded across operations, with compliance monitored through ongoing audits.

The ISO 14001:2015 certification covers waste management, energy conservation, and emissions control—core themes also featured in KAA’s 2023–2027 Strategic Plan.

The Authority will undergo regular surveillance audits to ensure ongoing compliance and enhancement of its EHS performance,” notes KAA, highlighting its focus on maintaining high standards for safety and sustainability.
