Skyteam introduced The Sustainable Flight Challenge (TSFC) to encourage airlines to innovate and implement sustainable aviation solutions. Kenya Airways (KQ) operated its dedicated Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner flight between Nairobi and Amsterdam on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Participating member airlines will openly share learnings and innovations from the dedicated flights in a bid to increase the rate of innovation when it comes to environmental sustainability in the aviation industry.

As we fly to a more sustainable future, red will be going green to demonstrate our commitment toward sustainable aviation metaphorically. It will also be a moment of reckoning on the gains made on our sustainability initiatives, key of which is the realignment of our policy towards sustainable business operations through a multi-faceted Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. KQ is the only Airline in Africa that has signed up as a member of UN Global Compact and a member of the Africa Shared Values Initiative. – Mr. Allan Kilavuka, CEO & Group MD, KQ.
