AirAsia X (D7) has announced that flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Nairobi (NBO), Kenya will be suspended effective September 1, 2025.

The airline cites lower-than-expected travel demand as the reason for the decision, calling it “part of its network optimisation initiative.”

Future Network Adjustments

The carrier noted that its network is continuously reviewed, stating: “We continue to review our network and consumer demand and will make adjustments from time to time to ensure commercial viability and best value fares for our guests across our network.”

Support for Impacted Guests

According to AirAsia X, affected guests have been notified of Service Recovery Options (SROs), which include: Full refund, or Credit Account or Free flight change for travel before August 31, 2025—aimed at assisting them to make alternate travel arrangements.
