Boeing’s CMO highlights that Africa will require approximately 76,000 new aviation personnel by 2043, this includes 23,000 pilots, 25,000 technicians and 28,000 cabin crew.

Services Market Value

The 2024 CMO also forecasts a significant increase in demand for aviation services valued at US$125 Billion between 2024 and 2043.

This growth will be driven by various sectors within the aviation services industry, including Information Services, Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Modifications (MRO&M), and Training and Pilot Services.

Fleet Expansion

Looking at aircraft deliveries, the report suggests that airlines in Africa and the Middle East will collectively receive 10% of the total projected deliveries (43,975) over the next 20 years.

This translates to roughly 4,315 new aircraft for the region, with a breakdown of 1,170 aircraft (3%) for Africa and 3,145 aircraft (7%) for the Middle East.

Africa is projected an airline fleet growth at 4.4% between 2023 and 2043. The Middle East is expected to grow at 4.0%.
