Windhoek-Victoria Falls Flights Commence (Update)

FlyNamibia (WV) has launched its direct flights between Windhoek and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The new service, operated using Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, received a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival and a warm welcome from dignitaries including Zimbabwe’s Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbra Rwodzi, and Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. Joshua Sacco.

Recognising the central location of this airport in the southern region, the government has deemed it necessary to develop it as a Regional Tourism Hub,” stated Honourable Joshua Sacco, “From here, passengers can conveniently connect to any of the eight Southern African countries, including Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, and now Namibia, all within a two-hour flight feat we take immense pride in.

FlyNamibia Announces New Route

FlyNamibia (WV) has announced plans to commence flights to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe in the second quarter of 2024.

The airline will operate between Namibia’s Hosea Kutako International Airport and Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) starting from April 4, 2024.

Enhancing Regional Connectivity and Tourism

FlyNamibia’s Managing Director, Andrè Compion, stated:

This new route is a key element in FlyNamibia’s network expansion strategy, which aims to enhance regional connectivity, promote tourism within Namibia, and position Windhoek as an alternative gateway to the region.”
