Lufthansa Group Airlines Introduce Apple AirTag Integration for Baggage Tracking
New service enhancing baggage tracking across multiple airlines is now in effect.

The Lufthansa Group has rolled out a new service to improve the baggage tracing process for its passengers, integrating Apple AirTag location features into their systems.
In a statement on February 4, 2025, the company announced that effective immediately, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings passengers can privately and securely share the location of their AirTags via the familiar digital channels of the baggage tracing service.
Improving Customer Experience with Better Baggage Tracing.
Dieter Vranckx, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, highlighted the significance of this new service:
“The use of Apple AirTag data is one example of many ways in which we are continuously developing the customer journey of all our Group airlines thanks to innovative digital services.”
The integration of Apple AirTag data allows the airlines to support baggage tracking digitally, providing a more seamless and efficient experience for customers.
Oliver Schmitt, Head of the Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar, added: “The integration of our customers’ AirTag data opens up additional possibilities for us to act even more efficiently and quickly.”
