Moroccan flag carrier Royal Air Maroc (AT) has officially launched a tender to acquire new aircraft, according to industry reports (CAPA, April 21, 2024).

RAM CEO Abdelhamid Addou reportedly announced that a request for proposals (RFP) had been issued on April 15, 2024, signifying the airline’s move towards expanding its fleet.

In 2023, during an interview at the Marrakech-held Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa conference, Addou emphasised the importance of a larger fleet for achieving this objective, particularly for network expansion into the US, Europe, and Africa.
