The flights will be operated with the Airbus A330-800neo, featuring night flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and a morning departure on Sunday.
Uganda Airlines stated that this schedule is designed to optimise connections through Entebbe, linking passengers to destinations across its African network, including Harare, Lusaka, Nairobi, and the upcoming Accra route.
Boosting Uganda-UK Connectivity
The launch of this route underscores Uganda Airlines’ strategy to enhance connectivity and foster stronger ties between Uganda and the UK.
“The direct flights will provide unparalleled convenience for travelers and cater to the growing demand for seamless travel between the two nations,” stated Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki, the airline’s CEO.
This route is anticipated to bolster trade, tourism, and investment opportunities between Uganda, renowned as ‘The Pearl of Africa,’ and the United Kingdom, which share deep historical, cultural, and economic ties.
Bamuturaki added that industry reports have highlighted Entebbe as one of Africa’s most underserved markets for London flights, ‘making Uganda Airlines entry into this space a highly awaited development.’
