United stated it will commence Washington/Dulles-Dakar, Senegal service on May 23, 2025.

The airline noted it will now fly to “more destinations in Africa than any other U.S. carrier,” adding that the year-round, three-times-weekly service “will help further Africa’s growing tourism industry,” which has seen 13% more arrivals in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to UN Tourism.

Expanding United’s African Network

This new service expands United’s existing African routes to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Accra, Lagos, and seasonal service to Marrakesh.

Additionally, the airline will add more weekly direct flights between Newark/New York and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Athens, Greece
